Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1999 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Spanische Sprache, Literatur, Landeskunde, Note: 1,3, Universität zu Köln (Romanisches Institut), Veranstaltung: PS Spanische Lexikologie und Lexikographie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Gründung der Real Academia Española (Königliche spanische Akademie) geht auf die Person des Duque de Escalona zurück. Dieser kehrt nach längerer Abwesenheit nach Spanien zurück und ist über die „visible decadencia de nuestras letras“ (vg. Henschel) entsetzt. Zu dieser Zeit steht Spanien nach dem spanischen Erbfolgekrieg von 1701 bis 1714 unter der Herrschaft des Bourbonenkönigs Philipp V von Anjou. Der Dynastiewechsel hat auch Einfluß auf die spanische Gesellschaft und führt dazu, daß sich französische Mode und Literatur verbreiten. Ab 1713 trifft sich eine Gruppe Intellektueller auf Initiative des Duque de Escalona zu regelmäßigen Konversationen, die sich stets um das Thema der Konservierung der spanischen Sprache drehen. Die Gruppe beschließt im Juni 1713, eine sich dieser Aufgabe widmende Akademie zu gründen. Diese nennt sich zunächst - nach Vorbild der Académie française - „Academia Española“ und erhält erst zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt, nach der Aufnahme in die Real Casa, ihren heutigen Namen „Real Academia Española“.
