La joven Rosa de Lima marcó profundamente la espiritualidad de Perú en un periodo histórico difícil. Con el ejemplo de su vida dedicada a Dios, a la oración, a la penitencia y a las buenas obras centradas en los pobres y en los que sufren, la santa inspiró la reforma religiosa y moral de una sociedad hasta entonces dominada por la opresión y la depredación.
