Entre 1870 y 1930 el circo fue el espectáculo más atractivo y popular en México. A diferencia de otras diversiones públicas, sorprendió y deleitó a las familias ricas, medianas y pobres. Las compañías de circo rompían con la rutina diaria del espectador común, pues realizaban proezas y desplegaban habilidades extraordinarias: presentaban a hombres que saltaban 16 caballos en fila, devoraban fuego, se elevaban en globos aerostáticos, eran lanzados por un cañón, o bien, mostraban a mujeres envueltas en serpientes, a elefantes que giraban 360 grados parados sobre una sola de sus...

The charming town of Los Gatos is nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Gem City of the Foothills. It has inspired hundreds of postcard images through the years, many reflecting the areas abundance of natural beauty. As the town and surrounding area grew and prospered through agriculture, logging, and commerce, the local architecture and landmarks became popular subjects. Glimpses of everyday lifechurches, schools, houses, and businessesfurther enhanced the pictorial history the postcards represent.
