La imágen sin límites

Resumen del Libro

Libro La imágen sin límites

Anthological exhibition of Cuban photography, fifty artists and one hundred images allow an extensive tour of the development of photography in Cuba since its arrival on the island in 1840 to the present. With this exhibition, curated by the specialist Rafael Acosta de Arriba, the exhibition of Cuban photography returns to the Museum's halls. Somehow a similar attempt was made in 1983, when another representative sample of our photography was deployed to date. For the occasion, a catalog has been published in which several specialists discuss photography in Cuba, prominent women photographers and renowned international artists who have worked in the country throughout almost 180 years of island photography are mentioned, as well as They update the most important events that occurred within the scope of the lens in the period between one exhibition and another. This book is a testimony of the exhibition for the service of researchers, students and teachers.

In our modern digital age, the polaroid is already becoming a relic of the past. However, the fleeting moment and the uniqueness of it, lend the polaroid a quality beyond its mere merit as a "good" or "bad" photograph. Like a painting, a polaroid becomes an irreplaceable treasure and object of desire, as only one person may own the original. Perfectly lit and composed, these polaroids are Bitesnich's images in miniature, the painterly sketches for later works of art. Though as with most artists, the sketches ultimately become artworks in themselves. AUTHOR Andreas H. Bitesnich started his...

"Follows a fictional Sheffield band from Mexico, in the style of legendary magazine 'The Face' ... The context of the event [Art Sheffield 05] was 'Spectator T', a fictitious art goer without exposure to contemporary aesthetics, and the idea was to present artworks that would challenge this person's preconceived ideas about art. Thus, Toledo created a cover band that sang songs by local Sheffield groups, and named it after the cult Sheffield nightclub, The Limit, which closed in 1992. The band was created in Mexico ... where it played one local concert, then came to Sheffield, where it played ...
