Mi mamá es preciosa

Resumen del Libro

Libro Mi mamá es preciosa

The girl protagonist of this story realises how her mummy is rejected by society because she is fat. But her physical appearance doesn't stop her feeling great affection for her mother. Thus, she transforms all the criticisms she hears into something good and positive in her eyes. Without the slightest importance to her appearance, she imagines that her mother is a princess. For her, she is something special, for she is the one who loves her, protects her and cuddles her; she is also the person who makes her feel special. As with the mother of the girl in this story, difference is always difficult to accept and even more so when it is a stereotype that is considered more as a defect than a sign of identity. However, the obesity that characterises her gives her her particular identity which, together with maternal-filial love, turns her into a great mother for her daughter. And, as a lesson for the hypocrisy of those around her, the small girl doesn't hesitate to unashamedly tell everyone that her mummy is the most wonderful person in the world. A song for love and acceptance of the individual, delicately illustrated and written

Is the elephant smooth or bumpy? What color is the bird's wing? The youngest of readers observe animal families and characteristics in this charming board book. On each left-hand page are adult animals and textures for babies to touch; on the right-hand pages are the animals' offspring. The bright colors, friendly animals, and touch-and-feel parts stimulate children's senses at a young age. Perfect for developing a baby's observational skills and hand-eye coordination.

Noche De Humo /Smoky Night

Libro Noche De Humo /Smoky Night

Eve Bunting's heartfelt story and David Diaz's dramatic illustrations create a compelling child's-eye view of urban violence. A young boy and his mother are forced to flee their apartment during a night of rioting in Los Angeles. Fires and looting force neighbors--who have always avoided one another--to come together in the face of danger and concern for their missing pets. David Diaz was awarded the Caldecott Medal for his bold acrylic paint and photo-collage illustrations.
