En Cerezuelo de la Vera, singular pueblo fronterizo con Portugal y enclavado en un hermoso valle de la provincia de Cáceres, vive en su peculiar mansión el General de División en la reserva Julián Arcones Garabitas. Hasta allí le conduce su trabajo a Marcial Cifuentes, periodista en una modesta publicación, con el fin de entrevistar al militar para escribir un artículo sobre su curiosa residencia.
